Manchester Nightlife

Girls PartySome might say that there is no greater city on Earth to party in than Manchester. The iconic northern city is packed full of life and attitude. No matter what your partying tastes, it is guaranteed that the Manchester nightlife scene will have something to suit you. From northern quarter culture to swish Deansgate bars, here are a few tips on venues that are sure to give you a cracking night out.

Northern Soul

The Northern Quarter in Manchester is home to the city’s achingly cool heartbeat. Packed full of cool bars and businesses, the streets carry an independent vibe that is reminiscent of New York City in the 1920s. This is where you will find the city’s most unique nightlife venues. TV21 is a science fiction themed bar which is popular with Manchester’s vast media community. Dedicated to film, TV, and the arts, the watering hole is packed full of film props including a giant space shuttle! Apotheca has a slightly classier feel due to its smart interior and antique pharmacy cabinets, and the bar even has a secret underground tunnel which leads to the next door Dough Pizza Kitchen. For the more bohemian amongst us, Odd Bar is a thoroughly unpretentious venue that specialises in playing superb soundtracks from an impressive jukebox and offers a range of themed nights.

Celeb Central

However, if you want to go a bit more main stream you should head off to the trendy Deansgate area. Sandinista! is an American influenced rock bar which parties until 3am on every night of the week. Named after a Clash album record, Sandinista! offers a wide selection of Cuban rums which are guaranteed to help get your party started. However, for the largest rum collection in town, you should head to The Liar’s Club which offers over 100 different varieties. For the cream of the Manchester nightlife scene though, The Bijou Club has positioned itself as the premier venue for the city’s elite. The club offers private membership options, has hosted Brit Awards after parties, and regularly attracts A List celebrities and footballers through its doors.
